On Tuesday 21st September we all gathered at the Pembroke Centre to celebrate the amazing life of Pat Burgess (1930-2020). Over 200 people gathered together to listen
to heartfelt speeches from The Earl of Pembroke, Olympian Eventer Lucinda Green and Pat's son, Jim Burgess.
Poppy the pony then led a procession up to the woods, where the Rev Mark Wood and Claire Hacker spoke and a beautiful memorial bench was unveiled, in the centre of the 'magic circle'.
Everyone then congregate in the indoor school to listen to many people talk about how Pat's wisdom, joy and enthusiasm for life had benefited them and everyone enjoyed tea and cakes. Thank you to everyone who worked so hard and helped make this a fitting celebration of Pat's life.
Pat was truly one of life's special people and will never be forgotten.
